What is Hot Yoga?

A: Hot Yoga is a series of postures and breathing exercises performed in a heated room.  The heat allows the body to stretch and compress more deeply minimising the risk of injury or strain. The heart, lungs and circulatory system are required to work harder, giving you a great cardiovascular workout. The warmth aids sweating and thereby giving you the added benefit of a detox. Visit our What is Hot Yoga page on this website for more details.

Why the heat?

A: The heated studio allows muscles to stretch further and because your muscles are warm, you are at less risk of injury. By inducing sweating, toxins are emitted from your body leaving you feeling deeply cleansed, relaxed, fully rejuvenated and ready to tackle whatever life throws at you.

Am I fit enough to attend?

A: Anyone with any level of fitness can attend any class, however be prepared to work hard, sweat a lot and feel like you’ve worked every cell, nerve, muscle bone, tendon and ligament in the body. There’s a great relaxation part at the end, which will feel so worth it.

Do I need to be flexible? I can’t even touch my toes!

A: You don’t need to be flexible – that’s one of the many things Hot Yoga will help to improve. The more you practice, the better you will be.

What should I wear?

A: Please wear something that is comfortable to the class. Women usually wear shorts or leggings with a crop or vest top and guys tend to wear shorts, some with and some without a top.

What should I bring to class?

A:  Mats are NOT provided right now due to Covid -19 so please bring your own with you. We do have preloved yoga mats for sale if you'd like to purchase one. You must also bring a large towel and water with you. However these are on sale at reception should you forget!

Are there changing facilities and showers?

A; whilst we do have both of these facilities available, unfortunately due to Covid-19 we cannot allow you to use them during this time.

I am pregnant, can I take class?

A: There are many styles of yoga that are suitable for pregnant ladies but unfortunately Hot Yoga classes are not advised..

Can any age attend?

A: Any age from 16 to 80. The body’s heat regulatory system is still developing up to the age of 16, for this reason we recommend only children above that age and then only with a responsible adult with them. Keep checking our class timetable as we will be offering some not so hot classes that can accommodate a younger yogi.

Are there any other times I should avoid class?

A: If you are very dehydrated or suffering from any cold or flu like symptoms. Everyone is asked to complete a brief health questionnaire prior to taking class. There may also be some circumstances whereby it may be inadvisable to practice. If you have any concerns or would like further clarification please contact us.

What are you doing to ensure safety during Covid 19?

A; Please view our COVID-19 page to see our guidelines.
